This is the message we have heard from the beginning: that we should love one another.

Engaged - Day 9

So, I have decided to start blogging as the engagement progresses. But first to tell where it has gone!

November 13th, 2011 at approximately 4:15PM I proposed to my best friend, and now fiancée, Allyson Marie Bassett. This happened in full view of Falls Park (Greenville, SC) as well as our closest friends and immediate family. She said yes, and the crowd literally did go wild!!

The date was set for July 14, 2012. Allyson loves the numbers 2 and 7, and using the date 7-14-2012 she gets all of her favorite numbers! She set us up with an account on TheKnot, and subsequently created a website for our engagement/wedding! It's actually pretty cool, and will only get better as we add more info: http://davidallyson.ourwedding.com/

You should totes check it out!

Anyways, after some conversations with older married peoples, we felt it would be beneficial on multiple levels to move to date - closer :D - to June 16, 2012 at 2PM. SO! Thus is the date! We are 207 days, 00 hours, 43 min, and 20 sec from the wedding (as of the exact time I wrote that)!! :D Preeeeetty crazay!

We do have the wedding party planned - but it will be a secret from the world-wide-web, for now at least! We have been talking about the honeymoon some, but still need to mull it over. But that will be exciting!! We have a photographer, a videographer, a florist, bakers, a pastor, a place, AND a color palette! So, moving up the date wasnt a strain on our planning - thank the good Lord above!

What has really been a relief for me is knowing our parents are behind us. They have been a source or good information, and help since the beginning, and I think I speak for both of us when I say it has been quite useful!

Right now Allyson and I are separated for Thanksgiving break; but only until this Friday. I'm really seeing how God has strung us together in that not having her around (while liberating at times) leaves me feeling empty in most places. Like a part of me is missing. And no (I know you are reading this Allyson), I didnt just say that for mooshy-mooshy reasons. God really did not make man to be alone - you truly are my helper. :D

SO! That is about all that is happening as the engagement moves along - we are now at 200 days 00 hours 38 min and 9 seconds!! :-P

Keep watching for new posts!

In Christ,
David Pendergrass
